How my in-person coaching actually works (Sheffield)

If you’ve been umming and ahhing about starting personal training, and aren’t entirely sure what the process looks like - this is for you.

I’m Adam. I help a wide range of people get stronger, fitter and eat better - with a focus on sustainability, for meaningful long term change. The process for getting involved is simple:

Step 1: Free consultation

You reach out and book in for a free consultation (click here to do that now!). I’ll be in touch shortly after, and we’ll have a no pressure chat about how I might be able to help - we’ll briefly go over what your current activity levels and nutrition look like and whether there are any injuries or health concerns we need to work around. From there, we’ll get you booked in for a free taster session!

Step 2: Taster session

Your taster session will be in the private gym I work out of, just off Ecclesall Road. We’ll have a bit more of a chat, and we’ll then go through a bit of a training session - we’ll get some lifting done, and in general have a chance to see if it’s a good fit.

Step 3: Coaching Begins

If it is for you, we’ll figure out when you’ll be coming in to train - this can be the same day and time each week, or we can move it around if your schedule varies. We’ll get you set up on my training app, on which we can start looking at your nutrition and get your independent training mapped out! In week 1, we’ll do a food photo journal to get a picture of how you’re eating currently and what we might look to adapt. If you’re looking to train and be more active outside of our sessions, we’ll figure out a sensible and realistic plan in terms of days and times and get a plan in place there.

Step 4: The Approach Evolves

I keep a constant monitor of how we’re progressing, adapting how we’re training and helping you dial in your nutrition based on how things are going - also accounting for any changes in schedule, stress and circumstances that can happen. We’ll find a way to keep you moving forwards regardless of what else is going on. I’m a big believer in building autonomy, so I’ll be educating you along the way so that you actually understand why we’re doing what we’re doing.

That’s how my coaching looks - if you think it might be for you, or want to ask any other questions - reach out here and I’ll be in touch.
